7th Annual South Putnam Alumni Banquet set April 21

All South Putnam High School alumni, graduating seniors, teachers, staff, and any and all friends of South Putnam are invited to the Seventh Annual Alumni Banquet scheduled for Saturday, April 21.

The event will begin with social hour at 5 p.m. followed by the banquet at 6 in the South Putnam cafetorium.

Organizers are hoping for extra support to help honor the special Alumni Hall of Fame winners who are traveling a long way to attend. Receiving the award this year are Darla “Parker” Hall, Marcy Girton and Walter J. Wood Sr.

Meanwhile, this year’s Teacher Hall of Fame winners, voted on by the alumni, are Sharon Evans (in her memory) and Jeff Raab.

South Putnam classes to be recognized at the banquet are 1978 and 1993.

Two scholarships will be awarded. The South Putnam Community Education Foundation scholarship will go to Addison Blaydes, while the Wildman Leadership scholarship winner has yet to be determined.

Two teacher grants also will be presented, one to Brad Laney and the other to Jill Newton.

To register and pay for reservations, persons should contact the office of David Greenburg Accounting at 653-6825 as Greenburg is executive treasurer for the event. While it is now past the RSVP date, reservations will continue to be accepted as long as possible.
