County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 8:24 p.m. Melissa Gay Nichols, 50, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

• At 8:22 p.m. Justin Levi Burnham, 31, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 2:56 p.m. Joesiya Edward Gillmore Cooksey, 22, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 6:48 a.m. Thomas Jeffery Baer, 36, Johnson City, Tenn., was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana, public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7:25 a.m. on Monday, Kumar Pardeep, 32, Corsicana, Texas, was westbound on County Road 100 North just west of County Road 750 East in a 2012 Volvo semi.

The tractor-trailer left the road and the trailer hit a Hendricks Power pole, snapping the pole and knocking out power to the area.

Pardeep told Deputy Brian Helmer his trailer started sliding on him and he lost control, leaving the road.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.
