Theta Chapter, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, will host its spring Soup and Salad Luncheon, Concert and Fashion Show on Saturday, April 21 at the Greencastle Moose Lodge, 212 W. Franklin St.

Tickets are $15 per person and are available at Eitel’s Florist, Myers’ Market, Completely Nuts & Candy, Creative Touch beauty salon, and from any Delt member. A limited number of tickets are available and tickets must be purchased in advance.

All proceeds from the event will be used to support philanthropy donations to local community programs.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch catered by Myers’ Market will be served at noon. Several members of Covered Bridge Harmony will provide entertainment with their vocal talents.

During the fashion show members and friends of Delta Theta Tau will model current styles and accessories provided by Christopher & Banks of Plainfield. The fun will also include drawings for several door prizes and a special raffle prize.

Delta Theta Tau is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of philanthropy and charity and membership is open to women of all ages.

Theta Chapter has been working for more than 108 years to improve the lives of children, women and families in Putnam County. It does so by donating money, time, and effort to programs such as the food pantry, non-food pantry, Mary Allison Children’s Trust, Imagination Library, Reality Fair, Summer Enrichment Program, Giving Tree, Phil the Need, the Red Cross, Family Support Services, the Memorial Garden flower beds at Forest Hill Cemetery and many others.

Several years ago Theta Chapter donated to the Greencastle Fire Department the very first Fire Safety/Smoke House to help teach children how to escape and survive a fire.

The sorority also provides two grants each year to help young women advance their education. It is able to do all this as a result of the generous community support of fundraisers such as this luncheon, the Holiday Home Tour and the sale of hundreds of cheese balls.
