County Jail

Nine people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 11:46 p.m. Michael James Fields Jr., 48, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, on an out-of-county warrant and on a local warrant.

• At 10:03 a.m. Taran Dawn Morris, 37, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Saturday

• At 5:29 p.m. Michael Jay McCullough Jr., 22, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a court order.

• At 2:50 a.m. Joseph Adam Lounder, 18, Plainfield, was booked in for driving while intoxicated with a controlled substance.

Friday

• At 11:33 p.m. Jimmy Lynn Sizemore, 43, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 7:19 p.m. Michelle Lynn Joy, 45, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for assisting a criminal and maintaining a common nuisance.

• At 7:09 p.m. Robin Ann Pingleton, 52, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for assisting a criminal and visiting a common nuisance.

• At 12:02 p.m. Thomas Carl Skaggs, 44, Morristown, was booked in for possession of marijuana and neglect of a dependent.

• At 11:38 a.m. John Daniel Mays, 32, Morristown, was lodged at the jail for possession of marijuana.

City Police

One drug-related arrest was reported in recent activity reported by Greencastle City Police.

• At 11:49 p.m. Sunday, Aaron Brenton, 35, Indianapolis, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown following a traffic stop on Zinc Mill Road near South Street on the city’s southeast side.

Brown was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

He was also charged with driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage accidents.

• At 9:38 p.m. on Saturday, Mikayla C. Weaver, 19, Terre Haute, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2010 Toyota Corolla when she hit a deer.

Deputy Jeffery Freeman estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000. The car was towed.

• At 1:32 p.m. on Thursday, Jonathon S. Cox, 17, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 75 North just east of County Road 300 East in a 2004 Ford Freestar. Sandra S. Myers, 62, Fillmore, was also westbound in a 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

Myers was delivering mail and stopped in front of 3481 E. CR 75 North. Cox said he had just started to go around Myers’ vehicle when he noticed an oncoming vehicle.

He veered back to the right and rear-ended Myers’ vehicle.

Lt. Donnie Pettit estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.
