Taking part in the Greencastle Arts Council Bonne Soiree Friday night at The Elms, home of DePauw University President Mark McCoy, Stuart Fabe and Marla Helton try to figure out how to recreate the embrace depicted in the marble carving “Romeo and Juliet.” The marble carving, created in the 1868-1885 period, was the first gift of Washington C. DePauw to the university collection.

Meanwhile, pointing out one of six T. C. Steele paintings on display at the home, Professor Jacob Hale discusses the 1903 painting “Oregon Coastal Seascape” with his wife Lavinia, who would later show some of her artistic creativity during the Bonne Soirre program.
