County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 6:42 p.m. Wendy Jo Niehaus, 41, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a writ of body attachment.

• At 3:03 p.m. Brodie Moore Hensley, 22, Terre Haute, was booked in on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 2:25 p.m. Joshua James Wright, 28, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for failure to appear and possession of a synthetic drug or lookalike substance.

• At 1:54 p.m. Bradford Timothy Clark, 34, Pittsburgh, was taken into custody for possession of marijuana, visiting a common nuisance and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

• At 10:25 a.m. Andrea Lynn Vickrey, 26, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for parole violation.

Monday

• At 11:27 a.m. Timothy Ray Luttrell, 48, Indianapolis, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

• At 12:13 a.m. Douglas Francis Portillo, 50, Fillmore, was lodged at the jail for leaving the scene of an accident.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 3:49 a.m. Thursday, Kane Phillips, 22, Beech Grove, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown following a traffic stop on Indianapolis Road.

Phillips was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and a Morgan County warrant for two counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

During the same traffic stop, Taaron Garmon, 21, Indianapolis was issued a summons by Sgt. Eric Vaughan to appear in court on a charge of possession of marijuana.

One additional citation was issued recently by city officers.

• At 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, Janeen Trueblood, 54, Terre Haute, was cited by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive near McAnally Center, Trueblood was ticketed for operating with an expired license plate.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 4:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Tatiana K. Ramey, 21, Cloverdale, was westbound on State Road 42 in a 2001 Ford Explorer when she hit a deer.

Deputy Tanner Brown estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000. The vehicle was towed.

• At 4:31 p.m. on Tuesday, Jessica A. Wood, 32, Bainbridge, was northbound on County Road 175 West in a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant. Wood was following a 2015 Ranger 570 FS ATV driven by Vernon E. Sutherlin, 85, Greencastle.

Wood told Deputy Tanner Brown that Sutherlin pulled over toward the right side of the road so she attempted to pass on the left. As she did so, the ATV hit the rear of her car.

Sutherlin told Brown that he steered to the right to make a wide left turn. As he started back to the left, he struck the rear of Wood’s vehicle.

Both Wood and Sutherlin agreed that he did not use turn signals or hand signals.

Neither driver was injured and no citations were issued.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Heather M. Vaughn, 26, Terre Haute, was westbound on U.S. 40 when she lost control of her 2009 Chevrolet Aveo.

Vaughn told Deputy Josh Boller her passenger side tires were on the edge of the road, causing her to lose control. The car left the road and hit a mailbox before entering the ditch.

The vehicle then went inverted through a telephone box and into a front yard, causing extensive damage to the car.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.
