PLEASE NOTE: The location of this month’s Dine with a Doc was changed after the May edition of Senior Life Odyssey went to press. The event will take place at Area 30 Career Center.

Senior Education Ministries Inc. has scheduled the April session of Dine with a Doc for Monday, April 23 at Area 30 Career Center, 1 N. Calbert Way, Greencastle.

Family nurse practitioner Andrea Baysinger will be the featured guest for the 10 a.m. to noon program.

Dine with a Doc is a free, community-based program that welcomes the local senior public to getting to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch, courtesy of Mill Pond Health Campus, Greencastle.

Baysinger’s background in healthcare spans a 23-year career as a registered nurse.

A 2014 graduate of Indiana State University’s Advanced Practice Nursing program, she is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner.

Her background includes an interest in health promotion and disease prevention as well as chronic disease management, including a passion for diabetes education.

A question-and-answer period will follow her presentation.

Dine with a Doc was designed to allow the seniors to get out of their homes, fellowship with their peers, promote enhanced living and educate them (from a preventative standpoint) with the goal of improving their quality of life and providing them with the resources and information to make an informed choice about their healthcare.

There will be various health care providers present to share information about their services and provide with door prizes for participants to win.

Hickory Creek at Sunset will offer a complimentary wellness clinic (blood pressure screening).
