Rick Woodall of Greencastle is seeking re-election in the District 2 Commissioner race.

A lifelong resident of Putnam County and graduate of South Putnam, he has been married to his bride of 31 years Rhonda and together they have three children, Sheridan (Ryan) Wilson, Rachel (Ethan) Ames and Austin (Cassie) Woodal, along with five grandchildren, Gabriella, Maddilyn, Carter, Wren and Augustus.

“Four years ago I wasn’t happy with the current commissioner and living with the age old adage of ‘quit talking about it and put your actions where your mouth is,’ we put our name in the hat and were fortunate to win,” Woodall said.

Woodall is proud of some of the progress the commissioners have made in the last three-plus years.

“Since then the commissioners have put together a seven-year road plan implemented last year that will redo all paved and chip and seal roads every seven years,” Woodall said. “We’ve implemented a plan to bring the County technology into the 21st century with upgrades to county technology and timekeeping, updating the county handbook with job descriptions, and meeting with Anthem, the county healthcare provider, three times a year to ensure the county employees have best possible healthcare choices at costs they can afford.”

Woodall is one of two men seeking the Republican nomination for District 2 Commissioner in the Tuesday, May 8 primary election.

“I have enjoyed and learned too many things to mention on how government operates and all the dynamics that make a county operate,” Woodall said. “I am passionate about being your commissioner and with your support look forward to four more years as your commissioner.”
