Tera Klutz

Tera K. Klutz will be the speaker at the annual Putnam County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday, May 5 at the new 3 Fat Labs Wedding and Event Barn, 2001 S. CR 400 West, Greencastle.

A meet-and-greet session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 and dancing at 9 p.m. Reservations are necessary.

Gov. Eric Holcomb appointed Klutz to serve as the 57th auditor of the state in January 2017. She is the first certified public accountant (CPA) to hold the statewide office and has a membership with the Government Finance Officials Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.

Klutz has now officially filed to become Indiana’s first-ever elected CPA auditor.

As auditor, Klutz serves as chief financial officer for the State of Indiana. Her primary duties include accounting for all of the state’s funds, overseeing and disbursing county, city, town and school tax distributions, and paying the state’s bills and employees. She is also the administrator for the Indiana Deferred Compensation Plan. Klutz is focused on ensuring the fiscal integrity of the Auditor’s Office.

Klutz’s leadership and participation in the Indiana Association of Counties led to her being the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding County Auditor of the Year award. Also, actively involved with Indiana’s other 91 elected county auditors, she was nominated and elected by her peers to serve as the 2017 president-elect of the Indiana Auditor’s Association.

Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Klutz graduated from Elmhurst High School as valedictorian of her graduating class. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Fort Wayne and passed the Indiana Board of Accountancy CPA.

Tera is married to Zach Klutz. They have two daughters, Alyx and Julian.

The dinner will be catered by Hog-In-It-All, providing beef brisket, barbecue chicken and pork ribs. Fresh pies by Lavina’s Meals in Rockville will be served for dessert.

Music for the reception and after-dinner dance party will be provided by DJ Christian Pick Nield.

There will be a raffle drawing provided by Bill and Tanya Mentgen, owners of the 3 Fat Labs B & B and Wedding and Event Barn, for a week’s accommodation in Belize (airfare not included). One must attend the dinner to purchase tickets for the drawing.

Reservations can be made by calling 653-3568. Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. To sponsor a table of eight, the cost is $280. Tickets may also be purchased from Putnam County Republican precinct committeemen.
