A reported altercation at an East Side restaurant Wednesday night resulted in one arrest and one summons, Greencastle City Police officials reported.

Richard Novak, 20, of Gary, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on preliminary charges of being a minor in consumption of alcohol, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, being a minor in a tavern, battery and resisting law enforcement following the 7:20 p.m. incident at Buffalo Wild Wings off Indianapolis Road.

Capt. Charles Inman was called to the scene after Novak reportedly became involved in an argument with another patron, who has not been charged in the incident.

A second person, Zachary Boylan, 19, Evanston, Ill., was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of being a minor in consumption of alcohol in regard to the incident.

Novak reportedly become combative at the jail, allegedly striking one of the county jail officers in the process, resulting in the battery and resisting charges against him.

He registered a blood-alcohol content of .13 percent under portable breathalyzer testing, City Police said.
