Live Local, Think Global creek clean-up May 5

Monday, April 30, 2018

The final Live Local, Think Global event for the spring is a clean-up of the banks of Big Walnut Creek on Saturday, May 5 from noon to 3 p.m.

The public is invited to join in the clean-up.

The group is partnering with American Rivers and DePauw University’s Outdoor Club, Sustainability Leadership Program and Civic Fellows.

American Rivers-sponsored clean-ups have removed more than 17 million pounds of litter and debris from America’s rivers and streams since the program started in 1991.

Participants will meet at the intersection of West Walnut Street and South CR 200 West to collect trash.

Participants should plan to wear weather-appropriate clothing (that can get dirty), work gloves, sturdy shoes (not sandals or flip-flops) or boots (waterproof are ideal in case you slip into water).
