Rustling Up Some Grub

With Karen Pelfrey holding one participant’s shopping bag open, fellow volunteer Sandy Williams deposits a frozen turkey into the carry-all Thursday morning for one of the local seniors taking advantage of the monthly Gleaner’s Food Giveaway at the Greencastle Armory. With 23 new households signing up for the program on Thursday, 149 households descended upon the Amory to receive a supply of canned food, frozen foods and even flats of tomatoes. Persons need to be age 55 or older to participate in the monthly (second Thursday) giveaway at the Armory.
