Railroading events at Putnam Museum Tuesday, Thursday

Friday, May 18, 2018

If you are a model railroad enthusiast, the Pacific & Eastern Model Railroad Club has made its home at the Putnam County Museum and wants to hear from you.

If you run a train under your Christmas tree or have a model railroad layout in your attic or basement -- whether it’s N-scale, HO-scale, O-scale or G-scale -- or you are looking for someone to share some childhood memories with, come join members of the Pacific & Eastern Model Railroad Club at the Putnam County Museum on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings, May 22 and 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The club will share the history of the Pacific & Eastern Model Railway, discuss railway history of Greencastle and Putnam County, talk about model railroading as a hobby and discuss some scenery tips.

Activities both evenings will include crafting scale trees that you can then take home to your layout or “plant” on the Pacific & Eastern, and of course, operating sessions for the model trains.

These events are free and open to the public and are being held in partnership with the Pacific & Eastern Model Railroad Club, the Putnam County Museum and Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department.

For more information, persons may contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 653-3395 or at www.greencastleparks.com.
