Library director search down to three candidates

The Putnam County Public Library Board has scheduled three candidate presentations to give community members opportunities to meet the finalists for the Putnam County Public Library Director position.

The finalists are:

-- Krystal Becker, marketing and communications director at PCPL and former Linton Public Library director.

-- Brian Briscoe, cataloging supervisor at a major book distributor and former catalog manager at St. Charles City-County Public Library District in St. Peters, Mo.

-- Susan Parsons, Humboldt County Library Arcata branch manager, Arcata, Calif., and former program director at PCPL.

Biographical information will be available at the community presentations.

The presentations are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the PCPL Kiwanis Room on May 22 (Parsons), May 29 (Briscoe) and May 30 (Becker).

Each candidate will have 20-30 minutes to speak followed by a question-and-answer session over the presentation. A social time for conversation will conclude the event.

It is requested that attendees refrain asking interview-type questions after the presentations. However, attendees are encouraged to engage in conversation with each candidate, the library staff and board members.

Prior to their presentations, the candidates will tour the various departments in the library and speak with library employees. Each candidate will also participate in an interview with the search committee.
