This summer, 25 different charitable organizations, scholarships and endowments are participating in the Putnam County Community Foundation Share the Dream program. The fundraising program offers proportionally awarded grant prizes to participants who receive at least 10 donations of $25 or more between May 1 and Aug. 31. Each of the 25 organizations will be highlighted in this series.

The Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship’s primary purpose is to provide educational support to Putnam County students.

The Board of Realtors is committed to the growth and development of Putnam County by using its funds to invest in a student who could one day return and make a difference in our community. To achieve this mission, the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship offers four scholarships each year — one to each Putnam County High School.

The Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship Endowment, established in 2006, was created to demonstrate the Board of Realtors’ commitment to the community. A donation to the endowment is an investment in the community, and community is what realtors are all about.

When you give to this endowment you are investing in local students who want to better themselves but might struggle to find the financing to attend college.

The Putnam County Board of Realtors would like to grow the endowment fund to increase the amount of each of the scholarships to the four Putnam County Schools. Its vision is to increase the scholarship amount from four $500 scholarships to four $1,000 scholarships by 2021.

Anyone in the community who values education and wants to make a difference in the lives of Putnam County students is asked to consider contributing to the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship Endowment.
