John Thomas 'Jack' Long

John Thomas "Jack" Long, 72, Cloverdale, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 27 with his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda Dwigans Long, by his side.

Jack was born Oct. 9, 1945.

He served his country in the National Guard.

Jack was a member of the Eagles in Greencastle.

Jack was an entrepreneur. He owned and operated several restaurants and bars, including the Longbranch Saloon and Ye Old Tavern in Cloverdale.

An avid golfer, Jack hosted an annual golf tournament for many years. He loved sports, especially horse racing and IU basketball.

Jack was loved and respected by many. He will be sadly missed.

He leaves behind his wife and three stepchildren, Melonie Jones, Shane Kilgore, both of Cloverdale, and Jeremy (Erin McCart) Kilgore of Vandalia; several grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
