This summer, 25 different charitable organizations, scholarships and endowments are participating in the Putnam County Community Foundation Share the Dream program. The fundraising program offers proportionally awarded grant prizes to participants who receive at least 10 donations of $25 or more between May 1 and Aug. 31. Each of the 25 organizations will be highlighted in this series.

The Fillmore High School Alumni Association strives to provide scholarships for graduates of South Putnam High School and to memorialize the Fillmore High School Alumni in perpetuity.

Its mission is multifold: To support local students in higher education and to maintain a sense of community and culture among graduates of Fillmore High School.

Fillmore High School Alumni Scholarship was established in 1995. Annually, FHS Alumni hold reunions where remaining graduates and their families can meet and discuss times past and events in their lives.

The current short-term goals for the association is to celebrate the 50-year reunion with the last FHS graduating class of 1969 next year in June.

Additionally, FHS Alumni Scholarship will be considering joining a South Putnam Dollars for Scholars chapter.

This year the Fillmore High School Alumni Association is participating in Share the Dream with a goal of increasing their fundraising efforts by five percent. Fillmore High School graduates as well as residents of the South Putnam area who wish to support education for students are asked to consider donating.

Remember that Fillmore High School Alumni Scholarship is used as a mechanism to encourage developing scholars from South Putnam High School and to support their futures in academia.
