Touch-A-Truck event set Saturday at GHS

Tuesday, June 12, 2018

Children of all ages are invited to “rev up their imagination” Saturday for the sixth annual Touch-a-Truck event in the parking lot of Greencastle High School.

The annual fundraiser for the Imagination Library of Putnam County is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the school, 910 E. Washington St., Greencastle.

Organized by Friends of the Putnam County Library, the event offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore working trucks of all types. Children get to touch, sit in and maybe even honk the horns of the trucks and other vehicles that are on display.

Children and their families will meet and directly interact with the people who build, protect and serve the community.

Trucks on display include construction trucks, race cars, emergency vehicles, a school bus, farm machinery and much more.

The professionals who operate the trucks will be on hand to explain the equipment and discuss work they perform with the machinery.

The event also includes activities such as a truck-themed toddler area, Kindermusik, remote control car area and giveaways.

Proceeds from the event benefit Imagination Library of Putnam County, which provides free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five each month.
