County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:55 p.m. Jeremy Daniel Harless, 36, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:24 p.m. Keith Michael Silvers, 41, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated with a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated endangering a person and driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 10:54 a.m. Matthew Ryan Eversole, 36, Brazil, was booked in for probation violation.

City Police

A 42-year-old Putnam County man is facing an auto theft charge following his arrest Wednesday evening by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 5:25 p.m. Douglas Allsup Jr., Greencastle, was stopped on North Jackson Street by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Allsup was driving a green and gray 1998 Dodge, which was reported stolen out of the Coatesville area of Hendricks County. Allsup vehemently denied that the truck was stolen but the vehicle came back as stolen when entered into the state database, police officials said.

According to reports, the truck is owned by either Pamela Scott or Dallas King.

A passenger riding with Allsup, Jennifer Buttery, 25, Greencastle, was later arrested as well at the GPD station on a Putnam County warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Allsup and Buttery were both lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated one recent property-damage accident.

• At 9:15 a.m. on Friday, Brittney M. Hill, 31, Brazil, was northbound on U.S. 231 north of U.S. 40 in a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan when she hit a deer.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
