Due to soggy weather, the Greencastle Civic League had to cancel ParkFest last week, but a return is planned for Tuesday, June 19 when Chris Wurster takes the stage, followed by Dreadful Greta.

The concert will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Bowman Park on the DePauw University campus.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Wurster grabbed his brother’s guitar as a teenager and hasn’t looked back since. His performances over the years have danced all over the map, from folk to pop to country rock and even the stylings of his barbershop quartet group, “Whatever Four.”

Dreadful Greta is a Grateful Dead cover band consisting of Lucas Eckrich, Taulbee Jackson, Cliff Gammon and Parker Black.

Known for their jam sessions in local hot spots such as Wasser Brewing Company and Taphouse 24, this band loves to slide between quiet acoustic performances and loud, electric rock explosions.

Music lovers should also put June 26 on the calendar, when Ron Dye and Legend Puncher will take the ParkFest stage.

Brandon Tinkler and Gus Moon, who had been scheduled for last week, will play ParkFest in July.

The Greencastle Civic League is also asking community members to bring their appetites for the annual July 4 pancake breakfast at Robe-Ann Park from 8-11 a.m. The event features all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage patties, orange juice and coffee for $5.

Funds support the projects of the Greencastle Civic League and Friends of the Park.

The Civic League would also like to thank the Greencastle Parks Department for partnering to support Park Fest, as well a Gold level sponsors Friends of the Park Association, Greencastle Hometown Dental, Heartland Automotive and York Chevrolet Buick GMC.
