Stoplight Work Begins

Wednesday, June 20, 2018
Starting the process on a project area residents have long called for, workers from Hoosier Co. Inc. perform preliminary work at State Road 240 and Percy Julian Drive/Zinc Mill Road Wednesday morning. A fully functional stoplight will be installed at the East Side location, following eight years as a four-way stop. As of late May, the Indiana Department of Transportation projected a completion date for the project of June 25, just five days from now including weekend. However, INDOT also cited a possible start date of June 4, more than two weeks before work actually began. The estimated $178,000 project is part of an overall $422,747 contract with the Hoosier Co. that also includes installing stoplights at Brazil in Clay County and at Montmorenci in Tippecanoe County.
