County Jail

Nine people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 3 p.m. George U. Edandison, 25, The Bronx, N.Y., was booked in for identity deception, fraud and counterfeiting.

• At 10 a.m. Dustin M. Lappin, 26, Clayton, was taken into custody on a warrant for theft.

• At 9:55 a.m. Monica D. Reed, 23, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 12:53 a.m. David C. Hutcheson, 51, Fillmore, was booked in on a warrant.

Tuesday

• At 10:02 p.m. Kandice Geree Shalayev, 33, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:53 p.m. Christopher L. Reedy, 43, Paris, Ill., was taken into custody on a warrant.

• At 6:36 p.m. Mark Eugene Brooks, 47, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

• At 12:06 p.m. Joshua Kyle Moore, 29, Poland, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 11:30 a.m. David Lewis Whalen, 30, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a Hendricks County warrant for theft.

City Police

Two recent summons and a ticket were reported in recent activity of the Greencastle City Police Department.

• At 1:11 a.m. Thursday, David Ritter, 22, Bainbridge, was cited by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped at CR 25 South and CR 100 East, Ritter, was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

• At 3:21 a.m. Wednesday, Diane Powell, 54, Indianapolis, was stopped for speeding by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Powell was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of driving with a suspended license with a prior offense. She received a warning ticket for speeding.

• At 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jennifer Moore, 39, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Brown.

Cited for having an expired license plate (August 2017), Moore was stopped on Indianapolis Road.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to eight recent dispatches:

• At 6:10 p.m. on Monday, GFD Command Vehicle 7 was dispatched to Milner Avenue in Terre Haute to assist with a reported missing child case. The unit arrived on the scene at 6:54 p.m. The child was found and GFD left the area at 9:43 p.m.

•At 12:21 p.m. on Tesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 646 E. Seminary St. They arrived at 12:33 p.m. and found no signs of a fire.

They cleared the scene at 12:37 p.m.

•At 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 609 S. Locust St. They arrived on the scene 4:35 p.m. and found no indication of a fire.

They cleared the scene at 4:53 p.m.

•At 5:18 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded a dispatch for a cat stuck in a tree. They arrived at 5:23 p.m. and were unable to help the cat.

They left the scene at 5:49 p.m.

•At 9:06 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to a complaint of a garbage fire at 1014 Avenue C. They arrived at the same time and found that the fire was an illegal burn.

They left the scene at 9:12 p.m.

•At 6:22 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was called to a vehicle accident at 1106 Indianapolis Road. They arrived at 6:30 a.m. and were tasked with cleaning up debris from the accident.

They cleared the scene at 6:50 a.m.

•At 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to a fire alarm at 1333 Indianapolis Road. They arrived at 4:46 p.m. and found no indication of a fire.

They cleared the scene at 5:04 p.m.

•At 9:41 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to a fire alarm at 508 S. Indiana St. They arrived at 9:44 a.m. and found no signs of a fire.

They cleared the scene at 9:47 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed seven medical assists and had one dispatch disregarded.
