Slide correction project to close SR 59 next week
MANSFIELD -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a slide correction project that will close State Road 59 in Parke County between the Clay/Parke County Line Road and CR 700 East on or after Tuesday, July 10.
This slide correction project will stabilize the slope by constructing a reinforced soil slope wall system. That will involve excavating the side slope to a depth of approximately 15 feet below the roadway elevation and replacing a pipe structure.
The designated detour follows State Road 59 to U.S. 36 to U.S. 231 to U.S. 40 and back.
The roadway is scheduled to reopen Sept. 18.
The project was awarded to CLR Inc. for $498,324.
