Baker’s Benches

Two shady resting places have recently been added to Micaela Cancilla Park, immediately west of Mama Nunz restaurant in Greencastle’s South End, thanks to a donation of two covered benches from the Baker family in memory of the late Glenn Baker of Baker’s Septic Services. On hand for the recent donation at the park are (seated, from left) Nora Baker, Glenn’s widow; and Jessica Saucerman, the Bakers’ granddaughter; along with (back, from left) City Park Board members John Hennette, Cathy Merrell and board President Tim Trigg and Park Director Rod Weinschenk. The Bakers, who have been in business in the community since the 1980s, also operated Baker’s Remove-All, the local trash collection service and transfer station.
