Patricia Anne Meek Clover

Monday, July 9, 2018

Patricia Anne Meek Clover, 86, of Greencastle, was called to her Heavenly Home Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Pat was born in Greencastle on May 31, 1932, the only child of Estill and Merle Broadstreet Meek.

Patty, as she was lovingly called by her parents, grew to adulthood in Cloverdale, where she spent her happy childhood and was graduated from Cloverdale High School with the Class of 1950.

Her further education resulted in receiving a secretarial degree from Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. Her extended secretarial career spanned some 50 years in the fields of legal and medical pursuits.

At the urging of dear friends, Dr. James and Judy Johnson, she was awarded her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Ivy Tech Community College at the age of 64. Her husband, Robert, was so supportive and probably enjoyed her receiving of this degree as much as Pat did. The awarding of her LPN degree brought her much pleasure and pride throughout the remainder of her life.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert, and their one daughter, Deborah Susan (James) Hayes of Mukwonago, Wis., family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her loving parents and many dear friends with whom her life was so enriched and blessed.

Her church, Gobin Memorial United Methodist, was very dear to her heart and she spent many, many fulfilling hours in the loving service of her Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. She loved His Church and her many friends and, during the declining days of her life, was looking forward to her Heavenly Home and her reunion with those she had loved whom had gone on before. Pat loved her church and tried daily to serve God in every way she could.

She also held an "over 55 year" membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 255, where she was a past worthy matron and for many years served as chaplain, which she said she probably enjoyed "the most of all." Another was a member of Gamma Phi Chapter, Kappa Delta Phi sorority, where she held offices until taking an inactive status when her husband, Robert, began to have failing health and she chose to spend as much time as possible with him.

Her family chose to have calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 12 with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 12:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

She requested her last message to be "Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die.'"

Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family c/o www.BittlesandHurt.com
