GYF walk set for Saturday

The Greencastle Youth Football League will have a Run/Walk Fundraiser at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the DePauw Nature Park.

Interested people may register in advance online at http://www.runsignup.com by searching for the term “Greencastle,” or register on the day of the event starting at 8 a.m.

Cost is $20 per participant (13 years and over) and $15 for those 12 and under.

The four-mile run/walk goes around the rim of the quarry and eventually through the quarry floor to the finish, and is mostly on crushed stone trails. The route has approximately 315 vertical feet of climbing over the course of the race.

The two-mile walk strolls along the Big Walnut Creek trail and loops back down the rail trail toward the finish line.
