Putnam Scanner for July 14, 2018

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 5:02 p.m. Keegan Che Bingman, 18, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 12:17 p.m. Rodney Dean Jacobs Jr., 40, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 12:14 p.m. William David Kassner, 39, Noblesville, was housed at the jail on a court order.

• At 9:58 a.m. Noah Jameson VanHorn, 23, Indianpapolis, was booked in on a court order.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four recent dispatches:

•At 11:03 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 1208 W. CR 125 South for a smoke and odor report. Units arrived at 11:08 a.m. and found the source to be a controlled burn.

It was ensured that the fire was put out safely and GFD left the scene at 11:19 a.m.

•At 4:11 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 1 W. Washington St. Firefighters arrived at 4:13 p.m. and found that the alarm was being tested.

They cleared the scene at 4:17 p.m.

•At 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the corner of Madison and Columbia streets for an unauthorized burn. Firefighters arrived at the same time and saw that the fire was put out.

They cleared the scene at 9:06 p.m.

•At 12:47 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 1542 Bloomington St. for a report of a gasoline spill. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 12:51 p.m., but found no spill.

They cleared the scene at 1:02 p.m.
