‘Barefoot in the Park’ auditions slated at PCPH

The Putnam County Playhouse is holding auditions for the upcoming Neil Simon comedy “Barefoot in the Park.”

There will be two sessions of auditions. The first will be Sunday, July 22, at 3 p.m. The second will be Monday, July 23, at 7 p.m.

Auditions will be conducted in the Rehearsal Center at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre off Round Barn Road in Greencastle.

The production is directed by Jack Randall Earles. The comedy, which will be presented Sept. 13-15 and Sept. 19-22, is being sponsored by Rossok Insurance/Goodville Mutual.

Roles available in the play are Corie Bratter, a young, headstrong newlywed, stage age early 20s; Paul Bratter, her husband, a young ambitious lawyer, stage age middle, late 20s; Ethel Banks, Corie’s mother, who is trying to accept her new life alone, stage age 50+; Mr. Velasco, a mysterious upstairs neighbor who may have designs on Ethel, stage age 50+; a telephone repairman, stage age 30s and up; and a non-speaking role, the delivery man.

All those auditioning should be 18 years or older. Everyone will be asked to read from the script.

There are no roles for children in this production.
