Richard Allen Stafford, 75, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Big Bend Hospice House.

Born in Terre Haute on Dec. 31, 1942, he moved to Tallahassee 20 years ago from South Florida.

Richard was a purchasing agent for the State of Florida and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW Post 3308 and Elks Lodge 937.

He love to paint in his spare time and focused on the scenic areas in Tallahassee and the gulf coast.

Richard is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia Keller Stafford; children Virginia (David) Tallent of Kingsport, Tenn., and Thomas (Linnea) Stafford of Kent, Ohio; grandchildren Samuel Tallent, Matthew Tallent, Caleb Tallent and Ingrid Stafford; and a niece, Vicky Markgraf of Coatesville.

Graveside services and entombment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Tallahassee National Cemetery, with military honors. A memorial service will be held at the Elks Lodge in Tallahassee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, is in charge of services.
