Putnam County Farm Bureau selects student scholarship winners for 2018

Putnam County Farm Bureau Inc. has selected its student scholarship winners for the 2018-19 school year, the organizaation has announced.

This year’s local scholarship recipients are Tyler Thompson, Noah Poynter, Daniel Williams, Jack Hutcheson, Preston Headley, Zach Rayce, Jessica Hays, Hannah Cunningham, Emma Holsapple, Sierra Spencer, Collin Berry and Kendra Sutherlin.

As scholarship winners, each student was awarded $300 toward his or her future education.

“As a former ag teacher and FFA adviser along with being a school board member for over 23 years, I am extremely pleased that our board chooses to honor, support and encourage our youth to further their education,” Putnam County Farm Bureau President Steve Cash said. “We look to continue our support for many years, allowing our local graduates to gain the knowledge needed to become successful members of our community, our state and our world.”

Putnam County Farm Bureau’s student scholarship winners belong to families that hold an active Farm Bureau membership.

Since 1919, Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) has protected the livelihood, land, equipment, animals and crops of Hoosier farmers as the state’s largest general farm organization. INFB works to ensure a farmer’s very right to farm, because agriculture is so vital to Indiana’s economy.
