BAINBRIDGE -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a bridge replacement project on the U.S. 36 bridge over Plum Creek will restrict traffic to one 10-foot lane, beginning on or after Friday, Aug. 3.

Motorists will be controlled at the bridge with a traffic signal. The bridge, located east of Bainbridge, should be opened to two lanes of travel in late October of this year.

Force Construction Co. Inc. was awarded the $2.8 million contract.

The project also includes bridge replacements on State Road 234 over Lost Creek, just over one mile west of U.S. 231, and over Jones & Armstrong Ditch, located 1.25 miles west of U.S. 231.

This project also will overlay the deck on the State Road 75 bridge over CSX Railroad located nearly three miles south of U.S. 36.

The scheduled completion date for these projects is in October 2019.
