County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 9:22 a.m. Caitlin Marie Abdon, 23, Bainbridge, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Sunday

• At 9:35 p.m. Logan Paige White, 21, Brazil, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 4:02 a.m. Richard Tracy Burnham, 51, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for driving with a BAC of .15 or more, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 2:53 a.m. Michael Brandon Olson, 38, Greencastle, was booked in for driving while intoxicated-refusal and driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle.

Saturday

• At 5:07 p.m. Steven Arthur Atkinson, 49, McCordsville, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 2:16 a.m. Samuel Clay Winegar, 36, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Friday

• At 2:19 p.m. Brandi Christine Marshall, 36, Bloomfield, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:58 p.m. Jaylon David Western, 25, Plainfield, was booked in on three local warrants.

City Police

One weekend arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Brent Lee Wallace, 34, Greencastle, was arrested at a Judson Court apartment by Officer Kyle Lee.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Wallace was taken into custody on three warrants for driving with a suspended license/failure to appear for each, as well as on a charge of possession of stolen property.

One summons was also issued recently by city officers.

• At 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Alexis Valdes-Kelsey, 18, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Alec Pettit.

As the result of a traffic stop on State Road 240, Valdes-Kelsey was issued a summons into court on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to four recent property-damage accidents.

• At 5:36 a.m. on Monday, Sadie L. Lane, 23, Greencastle, was southbound on Manhattan Road, approaching County Road 550 South in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta.

Lane told Deputy Brian Helmer the tires were not very good on the vehicle and she lost control on the wet roads and left the road. The vehicle went into a cornfield.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000. The car was towed.

• At 5:01 p.m. on Sunday, Martha J. Miller, 41, Reelsville, was eastbound on County Road 550 South in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee when she hit a deer.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Jordan M. Kelly, 25, Greencastle, was traveling on County Road 200 West in a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu.

She told Deputy Soilleux she was drifting around a corner when she overcorrected and lost control, leaving the road and hitting a tree.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Deputy Tanner Brown assisted at the scene.

• At 9:54 a.m. on Saturday, Scott D. Agnew, 40, Reelsville, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 1964 Chevrolet C10 truck when the vehicle’s right front tire fell off.

The tire went under the pickup, causing it to ramp over the tire.

Following the accident, the vehicle’s passenger, Tracy Agnew, was having an asthma attack. She also complained of pain from the impact. She was treated at the scene by Operation Life and signed a statement of release.

The truck was towed. Deputy Helmer estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.
