Downtown gets fresh for First Friday

Monday, July 30, 2018

Fresh produce, including some ready-to-eat Hoosier sweetcorn, will be on the menu for the August installment of First Friday in downtown Greencastle on Friday, Aug. 3.

A number of Greencastle Farmer’s Market vendors, a staple on the square every Saturday morning, will be set up on the north side of Courthouse Square offering fresh vegetables and homemade goodies.

Zaring Farms will be set up in front of Bridges Craft Pizza and Wine Bar offering a special treat only available this time of year — ready-to-east roasted sweet corn.

The August edition of First Friday is sponsored by First National Bank, which will have a booth set up offering free sunglasses, pens and smiles.

As always, music is on the agenda for Friday.

On the North Side Stage, DJ Big Daddy A will warm things up beginning at 5:30 p.m. Following him, the MacDaddys will take the stage at 7 p.m.

War Radio will play the night’s final show at 9:30 p.m.

On South Indiana Street, ZooSoul Drum Circle will begin at 5 p.m., followed by Jack Gibson at 6.

MLE will headline the south side at 8 p.m.

The Wasser Brewery Stage will feature Black Market Vinyl and Union Street Rally at 8 p.m.

Another special partnership for August will be Complete Nuts and Candy teaming up with the Putnam Inn to provide a pairing of chocolates and wine on South Indiana Street.

Other food specials are on tap at Almost Home/Swizzle Stick, the Bon Appetit food trailer, Bridges, Charlie’s booth, Hatchet’s Barbecue booth, Moore’s Bar, Myers’ 5 East, Tap House 24, The Fluttering Duck booth and Wasser.
