Only two misdemeanor charges filed in child custody dust-up

Friday, August 3, 2018

Of the five people arrested in a Wednesday evening fight outside the Cloverdale McDonald’s, only two will face formal criminal charges in the matter.

On Friday, the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office filed Class B misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct against Krissy L. Allen, 23, Festus, Mo., and LeAnn M. Clements, 23, Columbus, Ohio (originally identified by police as LeAnn Frederick).

The three men involved in the matter — Joshua Frederick, Austin Banks and Jordan Shanks — were all released from the Putnam County Jail Friday morning with all charges dropped.

Initially, Cloverdale Police arrested all five on felony battery charges and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges. Allen and Clements were also initially arrested for felony strangulation.

In the end, however, only the misdemeanor charges were filed against the two females.

Police were called to the restaurant around 7 p.m. Wednesday, when a child custody exchange — Allen and Frederick have a three-year-old together — turned into an argument and eventually a fight.

The child was turned over to the Department of Child Services following the incident.
