Farm Bureau ELECT PAC endorses Jim Baird for U.S. Congress

The Jim Baird for Congress campaign has announced the endorsement of the Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT PAC, the nonpartisan political action committee associated with Indiana Farm Bureau, for the 2018 General Election.

Jim Baird

Baird (R-Greencastle) is the Republican candidate for the District 4 seat in the U.S. Congress. He is opposed by Tobi Beck, an Avon Democrat.

"We are pleased to endorse Jim Baird who not only has extensive knowledge of agriculture, but worked closely with Indiana Farm Bureau during his time in the Indiana General Assembly on numerous ag issues," the Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT PAC said. "He always kept the interests of individual farmers as his priority and we are confident he will do that in DC."

Baird noted that farming is an essential part of Indiana's 4th Congressional District.

"As a farmer for nearly my entire life, I understand the challenges facing our agricultural community," said Baird, currently completing his fourth term as District 44 state representative. "I appreciate the endorsement from Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT and I look forward to continuing to represent Hoosier farm families."

Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT PAC endorsements are made through a multi-step grassroots process, starting with recommendations from Farm Bureau members who live in the district.

Baird did not seek re-election to the District 44 seat and is instead the Republican candidate for the District 4 congressional seat in the November general election.

His son, Beau, is facing off against Democrat Kim Fidler of Greencastle for the District 44 seat that represents all of Putnam County and portions of Clay, Morgan, Owen and Parke counties.
