Strike Up the Band

Thursday, August 23, 2018
The second of four vertical timber posts is placed Thursday by a crew from Joe Spiker Excavating as the final stages of the bandshell construction project in Greencastle’s Robe-Ann Park move along after a lengthy summer delay. The custom-made timbers are the final element of the project which has seen a larger, more attractive bandshell take shape as a replacement for the dilapidated structure built in time for America’s 1976 Bicentennial celebration but razed last year over safety concerns. Construction of the new bandshell has been funded by grants and local donations.
