SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — Greencastle freshman Evan Crowe recorded the first assist in St. Mary-of-the-Woods College men’s soccer history on Wednesday in a scrimmage against Franklin College.

Crowe assisted teammate Nicolas Castrillon for the first goal of the match as the Pomeroys make their debut in the sport this fall.

The Pomeroys and Grizzlies eventually tied 2-2.

Crowe and the Pomeroys open their season officially on Sunday as they host Brescia at 3 p.m.

Crowe was a standout at Greencastle, leading the Cubs to sectional and conference crowns last season.
