Public library adopts OverDrive e-magazine service

Friday, August 31, 2018

The Putnam County Public Library Board of Trustees recently adopted a new service that will make it easier for library users to read their favorite magazines.

At their monthly meeting on Aug. 22, board members were excited that the library’s OverDrive online service, which provides e-books and audiobooks for library card holders, has expanded to include e-magazines as well.

Card holders will now be able to download 50+ popular magazines at no additional cost. They can be accessed through the OverDrive link under the “Online Resources” tab on the PCPL website.

The magazines, as well as other e-books and audiobooks, can also be accessed using the Libby app on Android devices. Library card holders must put in their library card number, with their password being the last four digits of their phone number.

Persons with questions about OverDrive can contact the library at 653-2755 for assistance.
