Michael Kent Caine

Michael Kent Caine, 68, of Greencastle, passed away early Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Kokomo on Sept. 24, 1949.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert E. Caine and Doris (Ruth) Caine.

Mike graduated from Kokomo High School and Purdue University.

Mike retired from sales and started doing varied woodwork projects as a hobby. He enjoyed playing pool at the Moose, playing cards, fishing and swapping jokes. He loved being with his family and especially his grandson Ryland and his dog Honey.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Georgeann (McClure) Caine; his daughters, Ashley Spurling and Erin Caine; grandson Ryland Spurling; brother Robert Caine and wife Heidi of Miami Beach, Fla.; in-laws Carl and Mae McClure; aunt and uncle Shirley “Ruth” and Richard Jones; sister-in-law Carla (McClure) Odell; brother-in-law Charles McClure and Janice Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Julia (Hillis) McClure.

He leaves behind his nephews, Ben Odell, Nick Caine and Reed McClure, and nieces Sarah Odell, Mary Odell, Maggie Odell, Robin Caine and Megan Caine.

Memorial donations can be made to Putnam County Hospital Oncology Center or Putnam County Museum.

An informal celebration of life will be held at the Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15.
