Busy September for Greencastle Park Dept.

Friday, September 7, 2018

The pool may be closed for the season and summer may be over meteorologically, but that doesn't mean it's all quiet on the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department front.

In fact, the month of September looms quite busy, Assistant Park Director Erin Ray reports, detailing several upcoming programs:

-- Walk and Talk begins on Sept. 11 through Oct. 11. Every Tuesday and Thursday walkers can head on out to Big Walnut Sports Park for a morning of exercise from 9-11 a.m.

-- Painting in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. at shelterhouse No. 1 (at the top of the hill) at Robe-Ann Park is an event featuring a guest artist from Paint and Party. Participants will follow along with step-by-step instructions to create their own canvas to take home. The event is designed for ages 18 years and older. Pre-registration completed with payment is required, register by Sept. 12.

-- DIY: Fall Burlap Wreath on Saturday, Sept. 22, starting at 10 a.m. in Greencastle City Hall is the perfect event to break out crafting skills to create your own burlap wreath with the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department. Limited spots are available, register by Sept. 17.
