Faces of Addiction and Recovery panel discussion set Sept. 17

Monday, September 10, 2018

The Putnam County Public Library will host a panel discussion for the Faces of Addiction and Recovery on Monday, Sept. 17.

The 6-7:30 p.m. panel discussion will focus on the reasons behind addiction, the impact of addiction on families and communities, and the recovery process, including what is working and what steps can be implemented to improve the recovery process.

Panelists will include Debbie Wachal, Putnam County Sheriff Scott Stockton, Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherlin, Daniel Cummings (who holds a master’s in marriage and family therapy), Erin Flick (a substance abuse counselor at Cummins) and others.

The session will include a question-and-answer session with the panelists. It will also present follow-up information from the Putnam County Addictions Task Force panel discussion last January.

The free public program is presented as part of Prescription Opioid and Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week.
