Gay Dell 'Doozie' Minnick

On Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, Gay Dell "Doozie" Minnick, 82, of Cataract, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Doozie was born June 22, 1936 in Cataract, the daughter of Henry "Hank" and Frankie (Hale) Stone, who preceded her in death in 1993 and 1975, respectively. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amber Lynn Minnick.

Doozie got her long-time nickname from her grandfather when she was born, Howard "Pa" Hale, who said upon seeing her, said, "She's a beautiful little girl, she sure is a doozie!"

Doozie's passions in her life included her faith, family and her farm. She also had an incredible love for all animals.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Max Minnick of Cataract; her three children, Greg Minnick of Cataract, Brent Minnick of Beech Grove, and Penny Minnick of Cataract; one grandson, Michael Minnick of Cataract; and a great-granddaughter, Brylie Minnick.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
