First Financial Pet Food Drive to benefit Putnam Humane Society

Monday, September 24, 2018

With colder weather on the way, many homeless animals will suffer in the elements without shelter, food or a loving person to care for them. To help the humane organizations that help our furry friends, First Financial Bank will stage its second annual Pet Food and Supplies Drive in October.

From Oct. 1-31, First Financial banking centers throughout Indiana (including Greencastle) and Illinois will be collecting donations of pet food, pet supplies and cash.

Boxes for donations and counter boxes for cash will be available to the public in every First Financial lobby. First associates also will be outside accepting cash donations in bank drive-throughs every Friday in October.

Associates in each of the counties the bank serves have chosen a local animal shelter, humane society or rescue organization to receive the food, supplies and funds from the drive. Donations will stay in the county in which they are made.

First Financial will also make a corporate contribution to each of the selected organizations.

Locally, all donations will go to the Putnam County Humane Society.

“Animal shelters and other humane organizations often depend on donations to keep the doors open,” Karen Milienu, chief branch banking officer at First Financial, said. “We are pleased to support the caring people who work to address the issue of homeless animals throughout our service area.”
