City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 11 recent dispatches:

•At 4:51 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 413 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:57 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 5:02 p.m.

•At 5:09 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 905 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:17 and determine an individual had activated a pull station inside the building. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 5:22 a.m.

•At 10:53 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:01 a.m. and could not determine the cause of the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 11:20 a.m.

•At 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:41 and determined the alarm was activated due to steam from a shower. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 11:45 a.m.

•At 11:47 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 107 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:50 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 11:56 a.m.

•At 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 601 E. Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:47 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 1:57 p.m.

•At 7:08 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:12 and found the alarm had been activated due to steam from a clothing presser. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 7:24 p.m.

•At 8:31 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 904 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:33 and found that the alarm had been activated due to hairspray. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 8:45 p.m.

•At 9:24 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 504 E. Seminary St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:27 and could not determine the cause of the alarm. The detector head was cleaned and the alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:39 p.m.

•At 6:12 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:17 and determined the alarm was activated due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 6:22 p.m.

•At 12:38 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched again to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:42 and determined the alarm was activated due to smoking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 1:03 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed four medical assists and had three disregards during this time.
