DANIEL SEAMAN of Greencastle was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest all-discipline collegiate honor society.

Seaman is pursuing a degree in music at University of Southern California.

Seaman is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 under the leadership of undergraduate student Marcus L. Urann who had a desire to create a different kind of honor society: One that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines.

Two local students were among the 194 DePauw University student-athletes named to the Tiger Pride Honor Roll for achieving at least a 3.40 grade point average for the 2018 spring semester.

Current junior MORGAN STEARLEY of Centerpoint is a member of the volleyball team.

BRAYDEN WHITE of Greencastle, who graduated in May, was a member of the DePauw baseball team.
