Drug Take Back event set Saturday at GHS

Again partnering with the Greencastle School Corporation and the Drug Enforcement Agency Office, the Greencastle Police Department will participate in the National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.

GPD officials will be set up outside Greencastle High School, 910 E. Washington St., in front of the GHS main office area.

Putnam County residents who have expired, unused or unwanted medications in their medicine cabinets may bring them to this event.

Authorities will box them up and deliver them to the DEA office in Indianapolis, where will be placed in an incinerator and destroyed.

Labels need not be removed, as any information on prescriptions bottles will be destroyed in the incinerator.
