David Tate, director of Medical Laboratory and Forensic Sciences at Purdue University for 38 years, will be the featured speaker at a dinner program sponsored by the Purdue Club of Putnam County on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The 6:30 p.m. dinner will take place at Autumn Glen, 98 N. 10th St., Greencastle.

Tate, often called Purdue’s “CSI guy,” will present a critical incident management scenario in which a manufacturing facility experiences a fire.

Purdue Club president Ron Birt said, “We are excited to have Prof. Tate present this program and believe it will be of interest to law enforcement, fire and emergency services in the county. His seminars involve role-playing by the audience.”

Nationally known for conducting seminars related to incident management and crime scene investigation, Tate has served as chairman of the Indiana Emergency Management and Homeland Security Higher Education Advisory Board and was the inaugural chairman of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.

Tate has been associated with Purdue University for more than 50 years, receiving BS and MS degrees in industrial management and counseling before joining the Purdue faculty.

The dinner and program are open to the public. The cost is $20 per person.

Reservations should be made with Sandy Williams at 653-3523 or Ken Carrington at 719-0350 by Sunday, Nov. 4.
