Fall property taxes due Nov. 13

Monday, November 5, 2018

Fall installments of property taxes are due Tuesday, Nov. 13, Putnam County Treasurer Kathy Minnick announced recently.

While this leaves a week to pay the installment, the treasurer’s office will be closed on both Tuesday, Nov. 6 in observance of Election Day and Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day.

Taxes may be paid at any of the following banks located in Putnam County: First Financial, First National, Old National, North Salem State or Tri-County. Payment at a bank must be accompanied by a tax statement. Additionally, the banks will not take a payment after the due date.

Taxes may also be paid online at www.co.putnam.in.us/Treasurer/, over the phone, at the Putnam County Treasurer’s Office on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse or by mail to PO Box 508, Greencastle, IN 46135. To ensure a penalty is not added, the envelope must be postmarked on or before the due date.

The Putnam County Treasurer’s Office will accept cash, check, money order, credit cards or debit cards.

Anyone in need of a copy of their bill may request a duplicate by contacting the Putnam County Treasurer’s Office at 653-4510 or treasurer@putnamcountyin.us. Failure to receive a statement does not relieve property owners of paying taxes or penalties that may be due.
