Boil orders for Reelsville Water customers to continue for multiple days

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

REELSVILLE — Boil orders that were declared recently for Reelsville Water Authority customers in various areas remain in effect and will continue for at least two more days.

The first boil order, announced last Thursday, is for all Reelsville Water customers in Cloverdale.

Then on Saturday, Reelsville Water announced an additional area starting on County Road 150 West (Limedale area) to the end of Manhattan Road as well as Poland Road from 450 West to 525 West.

Authorities anticipate the orders remaining in place through at least Thursday, depending on if both samples come back clean.

Reelsville Water declared the orders in consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. This precautionary measure is recommended because of a drinking water problem in the affected areas.

It is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before using it.

Additionally, until the water problem is resolved, authorities are asking that customers conserve water and only use what is necessary for household and personal needs.

Anyone with questions may contact the Reelsville Water Authority office at 672-8419.
