So far: Covington lost 42-37 at Clinton Prairie and 55-50 at South Newton.

North Putnam lost 43-42 at North Vermillion and won 40-34 at Crawfordsville.

Per-game averages: Offense — Covington 43.5, North 41.0. Defense — Covington 48.5, North 38.5.

History: North Putnam won 49-43 at Covington last season. Covington leads the series 5-3 over the past 15 years.

Cloverdale (4-0) at Danville (2-1)

The coaches: Matthew Langdon is in his eighth year at Cloverdale. Kaley May is in her sixth year at Danville.

So far: Cloverdale has beaten South Putnam 65-44, Riverton Parke 81-28, Clay City 72-42 and Shakamak 77-37.

Danville lost 52-50 to defending Class 4A state runnerup Zionsville and beat Hamilton Heights 46-35 and Plainfield 50-42.

Per-game averages: Offense — Cloverdale 73.8 (eighth in state), Danville 48.7. Defense — Cloverdale 37.8, Danville 43.0. Cloverdale is 12th in the state among all classes with a 36-point average winning margin.
